Mums & Mugs

As one of the initiatives of the parenting subgroup on our RW whatsapp community, Mums & Mugs is an intimate community programme where mothers can connect, exchange experiences and support one another through the different seasons of parenting. Created as a relaxed alternative to formal parenting events, each gathering offers a welcoming space for honest conversations about motherhood, identity, emotional wellbeing and family life.

Sessions are intentionally kept small to encourage deeper conversations and genuine friendships. Depending on the topic, Mums & Mugs may take the form of coffee gatherings, guided discussions, age-specific parenting circles, expert sessions or virtual book clubs. Past conversations have explored self-care for busy parents, raising children in Singapore, supporting children with different needs, navigating the teenage years and children’s digital wellbeing.

Mums & Mugs was launched in July 2026 by Renee Chong, Charlotte Boon and Swetha Vigraham. This first event saw 12 parents gathered around one table, representing different stages of the parenting journey. Following the first gathering, the programme expanded into a guided session for mothers with children under 12 and a virtual book club discussing Jonathan Haidt’s The Anxious Generation. The programme continues to be shaped by participating mothers, with opportunities to introduce future playdates, book discussions and sessions for parents of children in different age groups.
